Machine Embroidery Techniques for Embellishing Ribbon

It's not readily apparent how to machine embroider on ribbon:

• Narrow items like ribbon can't easily be securely hooped between the rings of the hoop
• Accurately positioning the design on the ribbon is difficult
• Tightly woven goods are more susceptible to rippling and puckering since there is little extra space to accommodate the thread in the design
